For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh. They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises.

To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ who is God over all, blessed forever. I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever.

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. A Psalm of Asaph. We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near.

We recount your wondrous deeds. I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side— let Israel now say— if it had not been the Lord who was on our side when people rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us; then over us would have gone the raging waters.

A Psalm of David. I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.

I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish before your presence. For you have maintained my just cause; you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment.

You have rebuked the nations; you have made the wicked perish; you have blotted out their name forever and ever.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Evildoers not only prosper but they put God to the test and they escape. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed his name.

Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places.
